Help & Troubleshooting

  • We need to ensure the controller has 12 volts of power. To check this, hook controller power and ground directly to the battery to ensure its getting power.
  • If RhinoMusic now appears when hooked straight to battery: this means 12V is not getting to the controller. Recheck all connections.
  • If RhinoMusic still is not showing in the device list with LED Chord: drag down the screen to refresh the list.
  • Ensure the LED Chord app has FULL permissions. This includes, Location (GPS), Bluetooth, and Wifi on and the app has permission to use this. If you do not give the app full permissions you will not be able to connect and see any bluetooth devices from inside the app. Google Help about permissions.

Make sure you are trying to connect the the controller from INSIDE the LED Chord app, not from the phones bluetooth directly.

If you notice that your whips or other Rhino products randomly light up you may be in music mode. Music mode triggers the microphone which reacts to sound around the controller. Go into the LED Chord app and change it back to Effect mode for patterns and solid colors.

If you turn on your Rhino controller/products and all you see is a quick flash of light, you more than likely turned off the controller within the LED Chord app. Connect to the controller and make sure the toggle switch to the right of the controller is toggled to the right.

    New Install

    • This happens due to data loss when extending wires on the RGB system. In order to avoid extending wires, mount the controller in a more central spot on your vehicle. This helps eliminate the need to extend wire and helps prevent flickering.
    • Did you extend whip wires to much and causing data issue? Reduce the length of wire and/or remove it to test with rock lights.

    Exisitng Install

    • This could indicate a damaged pigtail or loose connection. Check all connections. Wiggle the pigtail at the bottom of the whip to see if it affects the LEDs. If moving the pigtail affects the LEDs, see Warranty page about fixing the issue.

    • Check the settings within the LED Chord app, more than likely you need to increase the segments. Check Settings

    Exisitng Install

    • Check settings, these can accidentally be changed without realizing it. Check Settings
    • If your settings are set correctly, this may indicate that some LEDs are damaged, see Warranty page about fixing the issue.
